Vision:
To employ its service-oriented role by providing advanced information and communication technology (ICT) services that fulfill the college’s aspirations in alignment with the university’s vision, empowering the academic departments, divisions, and units of the college to utilize modern technologies, educational systems, and academic software. This contributes to transforming the university into a fully integrated digital learning environment that fosters innovation and supports scientific research.
Mission:
To ensure the provision of ICT requirements through academic computing activities that establish a broad, advanced, and reliable working base supporting the educational, research, and administrative processes of the college, based on quality principles. This enhances institutional capacity by enabling faster, easier, and more efficient decision-making at all levels.
Objectives:
The IT Division at the College of Administration and Economics is one of the most vital and active divisions. It seeks to implement and develop educational, academic, and administrative programs by employing the latest information technologies and communication techniques. This aligns with the Deanery’s commitment to automating the college’s systems and transforming operations into electronic processes, in accordance with the practices of reputable international universities and institutions. The division aims to provide services to all college members, including students, faculty, and administrative staff. Its objectives include:
- Providing internet services to all college buildings and maintaining the internet lines regularly.
- Supporting the organization of conferences hosted by the college through technical assistance for organizing committees, managing conference proceedings, and issuing appreciation certificates for reviewers.
- Designing brochures, posters, and visual materials for training courses, workshops, and conferences.
- Performing regular maintenance of computers and office equipment, and providing immediate solutions for unexpected technical issues.
- Creating email accounts for all staff and assisting in resolving email-related issues.
- Developing and regularly updating the official website of the college to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Providing software solutions to meet the needs of the college, such as electronic archiving programs that convert paper documents into digital formats stored on modern storage media, enabling fast and accurate retrieval of records. This also includes implementing an electronic indexing system for efficient document management.
- Conducting training courses to equip the college staff with the skills necessary to use technology effectively in their daily tasks.
Tasks:
- Determining the technical specifications of IT equipment and devices in coordination with the Computer Procurement Committee.
- Supervising and monitoring the college’s computer network system to ensure continuous internet access across all college units.
- Continuously expanding the network infrastructure.
- Designing and developing systems and programs that improve academic and administrative processes.
- Ensuring the continuous updating of programs and systems in line with the latest technologies.
- Implementing computerized technical solutions that automate the administrative, financial, and auditing processes of the college by building a comprehensive database for all units, aimed at expediting tasks while minimizing time and effort.
