In alignment with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to promote national afforestation campaigns and expand green spaces across Iraq, the College of Administration and Economics hosted a scientific symposium titled “The Importance of Afforestation in Sustaining the University Environment.” The event was held on March 12, 2026, as part of the activities celebrating Iraq National Tree Planting Day.
The symposium featured presentations by the following faculty members:
- Assistant Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Qader Mohammed
- Assistant Prof. Zahraa Jarallah Mahmoud
- Lecturer May Abulhad Ephrem
- Assistant Lecturer Hajar Abdul-Rahman Abdul-Hadi
The symposium addressed the vital role of afforestation in improving the university environment, maintaining ecological balance, and reducing pollution. It also highlighted the aesthetic and health benefits of greening the campus, while focusing on sustainable strategies for the long-term preservation of green spaces.
