University Health Unit

  • I. Unit Vision:
    • The Unit’s Role and Services Provided: The work plan of the University Health Unit in the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Al-Hamdaniya includes a set of goals and activities aimed at promoting public health and the psychological and physical well-being of students, faculty members, and employees, identifying health cases of university affiliates and students, taking necessary measures, and referring some health cases to the hospital if required.
    • The Unit’s Relationship with Associated Formations in the College and the Type of Relationships and Exchanges Between Them: The formations associated with the University Health Unit in the College of Administration and Economics are all divisions and units, in addition to students in the College when needed.
    • The Tools, Models, Procedures, and Instructions Adopted by the Unit: Here, reliance is placed on the instructions and directives issued by the relevant authorities at the University of Al-Hamdaniya Presidency to coordinate the work of the University Health Unit in the College of Administration and Economics.
    • The Target Audience of the University Health Unit: The target audience of the University Health Unit is all present faculty members, functional staff, and students in the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Al-Hamdaniya.
  • II. Unit Mission:
    • Requirements of the University Health Unit in the College of Administration and Economics: The requirements of the University Health Unit in the College of Administration and Economics may differ from one university to another, but in general, these requirements include several aspects related to student health and the university environment, including:
      • Providing Healthcare: Providing primary and emergency medical care to students, faculty members, and employees, aiming to improve their health and well-being.
      • Health Awareness: Spreading health awareness among students and the university community through awareness campaigns, workshops, and periodic lectures addressing topics such as proper nutrition, disease prevention, and mental health.
      • Disease Prevention: Implementing preventive programs, such as vaccination campaigns and periodic medical examinations, for early detection of diseases and limiting their spread in the university community.
      • Supporting Mental Health: Providing counseling and psychological support services to students, faculty members, and employees, to help deal with psychological and academic pressures.
      • Encouraging Healthy Living: Promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports and physical activities, and providing advice and guidance on physical fitness and public health.
      • Cooperation with the Local Community: Building partnerships with health institutions and the local community to enhance healthcare and services available to members of the university community.
    • Statement of Unit Activities: There is a set of activities carried out by the University Health Unit in the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Al-Hamdaniya, including:
      • Achieving a comprehensive healthy environment: The unit aims to provide a healthy and safe university environment for students, faculty members, and employees.
      • Promoting health awareness: The unit seeks to increase awareness of the importance of physical and mental health among members of the university community through awareness programs and periodic workshops.
      • Providing distinguished health services: Providing primary and student healthcare services with the highest possible quality standards.
      • Supporting mental health: Providing psychological support and specialized consultations to promote mental health and well-being among students and employees.
      • Encouraging physical activity: Organizing sports events and programs that encourage physical activity and a healthy life.
      • Cooperation and partnership: Building partnerships with local and international health institutions to exchange experiences and enhance the health services provided.
  • III. Unit Objectives: The objectives of the University Health Unit consist of a set of points, including:
  • Promoting public health: Spreading health awareness among students and employees, and providing educational lectures and seminars on various health topics.
  • Providing health services: Providing primary healthcare services to students and employees, including medical examinations and consultations.
  • Early intervention: Early detection of diseases and health problems and immediate intervention to prevent their development.
  • Awareness and education: Educating students about the importance of mental and physical health and ways to maintain it.
  • Cooperation with health institutions: Establishing partnerships with local hospitals and clinics to ensure the provision of integrated and comprehensive health services.
  • Psychological counseling: Providing psychological support and advice to students suffering from psychological or emotional problems.
  • Managing health crises: Developing emergency plans and responses to health crises that may occur within the university.
